The Light in Your Eyes Review

JTBC’s ‘The Light In Your Eyes’ also known as ‘Dazzling’ has sadly come to end! But was it worth watching?

Kim Hye Ja, a woman with a bright personality. When she was young she found a watch on the beach that allows her to turn back time but every time she does that, it makes her look older than her actual age. As she grow older she started to dream of becoming an announcer. However reality is harsh, she couldn’t land a job and she slowly stopped going to interviews or even send her resume to news stations. One day, she meets a fellow news reporter wannabe Lee Joon Ha who turns out to be her neighbor and they started to slowly get to know each other and develop some feelings. An accident happened to Hye Ja’s father, which made her use the magical watch in order to save him. She used it multiple times until she turned into an old lady.

I wasn’t looking forward to this drama that much but I watched it out of love for the cast and thank god I did otherwise I would have missed a
valuable drama that had such an important message and meaning behind it! Reading the synopsis, you would think It’s a fantasy romance drama right? But the writer cleverly hid the real plot and shocked the viewers with a big twist that I’m sure no one expected it. The drama started as a fantasy but ended with a fascinating and heartwarming realistic story.

I truly enjoyed every second of this drama, It was well balanced between comedy and melo. I don’t remember there was an episode where I didn’t cry nor laugh (thanks to Son Ho Joon lol). I was so impressed with the morals this drama carried and the amazing acting of all actors. Kim Hye Ja and Han Ji Min as Kim Hye Ja were so good, they really seemed like one person. I have to give credits to Nam Joo Hyuk, the boy improved his acting so much, you can feel his acting has matured and he really matched well with his character Joon Ha. But I have to say, the mother’s character who later turned out to be the daughter-in-law, deserved more spotlight. The actress’ acting was so good and her character was so loving and caring.

Overall, this drama is more than worth watching, I couldn’t help but clap after I finished it while of course crying my eyes out hehe It was too overwhelming and beautifully done. It’s a drama that will make you think how important time is and how you should spend it with your loved ones. It truly touched my heart and I will remember it for a long time.

Even if one ordinary day is followed by another ordinary day, life is still worth living. Don’t waste the present, regretting the past and worrying about the future. Live this day beautifully. You deserve it

My Rating:

Overall: 9.5/10
Acting: 10/10
